Shangyu Museum is located at No.288 Renmin Road, Shangyu District, Shaoxing City, and is housed in a state of the art 7000 ㎡ building. The exhibition area is 2400 ㎡ and consits of five permanant exhibitions and one temporary exhibition. With its peaceful and elegant surroundings, Shangyu Museum is a national class-two comprehensive museum, which could be called both museum and garden. It opened in May 2000 and became free to the public in March 2008.

Shangyu New Museum Introduction

Shangyu New Museum is located in the Celadon Culture Creative Industrial Area, which is in Cao’E scenic zone west of Phoenix Hill in Cao’ E street. It covers over 13k ㎡ and features a 12k ㎡ building complex. It will be completed in May 2018 after a 50 month construction period. The new museum consists of 4 parts, which are exhibition halls, collection storeroom, education services, and integrated management. The exhibition halls contain individual sections for historical exhibition, Celadon exhibition, Tianxianglou inscription and rubbing exhibition, modern ceramic exhibition, and rotating exhibition. The modern ceramic exhibition, which covers 1000 ㎡, is used for the ceramic works by the artists from home and abroad.
