Jenny Swanson grew up in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. She studied ceramics and drawing at Bennington College and received her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1984.  She is the director of The Ceramics Studio at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.
